Please be patient
Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Are you commanding someone to stand up or are you just saying stand up?
"se lever sur une planche de surf" translates to "to stand up on a surfboard." generally but if you’re saying it as an order then you must use the imperative.
To tell someone to stand up on a surfboard, you can say:
- "Lève-toi sur la planche de surf!" informal imperative to address to one person.
- "Levez-vous sur la planche de surf!" Formal or plural imperative, use this when speaking to either one person formally or at least two people
