Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

Are you commanding someone to stand up or are you just saying stand up?

#

"se lever sur une planche de surf" translates to "to stand up on a surfboard." generally but if you’re saying it as an order then you must use the imperative.
To tell someone to stand up on a surfboard, you can say:

  • "Lève-toi sur la planche de surf!" informal imperative to address to one person.
  • "Levez-vous sur la planche de surf!" Formal or plural imperative, use this when speaking to either one person formally or at least two people
