That's because in English you added the pronoun 'we'. « Ma famille » is singular third-person so it's « va ».

'My family goes to France every year'
–> Ma famille va en France chaque année.
'My family and I (we) go to France every year'
–> Ma famille et moi (nous) allons en France chaque année.
