Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
context?
depending on what gets "déguster", it could mean something like to "taste someone's vengeance" or something like that
Sadly, I dont know anymore where I read it. I made a note, that déguster means to suffer and later had the word in the context of to taste
It is indeed used as a somewhat humorous way to say “suffer”, specifically when it’s intense and long lasting pain you can’t really do much about other than just take it.
For example, you might say “j’ai bien dégusté pendant trois jours” to talk about how painful your recovery was after major surgery.
ah okay, interesting. Thank you. But I guess to taste is the more common meaning, right?
