Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
comment means how, so literally this would be "he's called how ?" (how is he called, reordered)
in french quel est son nom (what is his name) isn't exactly used to express this, the verb s'appeler (to call oneself, from appeler like to call) is used, so you wont see the word name in this context
