good taste first of all

#

i understand it as from

upper grove
#

oh u deleted it but i was abt to piggyback off that-

sacred hazel
#

i mean it could be of as in from

#

but not like, benediction of god as in towards god, for god

#

just saying it's from makes it simpler

upper grove
#

I wanted to remark that a lot of times in french when you have « x de y » in english you'd just have « y's x » that's what i notice at least

#

Like here you could directly say "god's blessing"

#

Which you would naturally just interpret as a blessing that god gives (and not receives, so not towards god as nopia you pointed out)

I have the music sheey funnily enough

#

hey thanks for the replys btw!

#

i quite like god's blessing as a translation

#

but it does give a different feel to "blessing from god"

upper grove
#

You're welcome!
You can see a similar thing with for example billet d'avion = ticket of plane = plane ticket

#

yeah. didnt think about it straight away

sacred hazel
#

So it is "of"

#

But it's of as in fancy from, not as towards/for

floral pendant
#

interesting there is no "la"

#

i suppose it was written in the 1800s. so french probably sounded differently like english did

sacred hazel
#

yeah go find someone starting a sentence with whence nowadays

upper grove
#

Oh is this classical music ?

floral pendant

in french isnt it common to say "la benediction". when in english we might translate it without the "the"

floral pendant
#

j'aime la musique mais j'ai jamais lis les poemes

upper grove

I think in any case that happens a lot

La nature
But in english it's just nature

sacred hazel
#

this might sound stupid but

#

in french it's fancy to not say it

#
