Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
I am by no means an expert at French but I do not believe there to be a word for the verb ‘to perform’ in French in the context that you are meaning it in, though I reckon a better translation of it would be ‘to give a performance’, in which case the sentence you are looking for is:
‘Elle a donné une performance aux concerts’
Thank you! I will check with my french teacher tomorrow!
« jouer » is your word
To give an example from one of the most famous artists:
[Taylor Swift] apparaît également sur plusieurs plateaux télé et joue dans de nombreuses cérémonies de remise de prix aux États-Unis, mais aussi au Royaume-Uni, en Allemagne et en Australie.
[Taylor Swift] appeared equally on several TV dinners and played in many awards ceremonies in the United States but also in the United Kingdom, in Germany, and in Australia.
If the artist or whatever is not the main act, I also saw « participer à »
En 2012, [Taylor Swift] participe au téléthon organisé par le programme de bienfaisance Stand Up to Cancer en y jouant Ronan, une chanson qu'elle a écrite en mémoire d'un petit garçon de 4 ans, décédé de neuroblastome.
In 2012, [Taylor Swift] participated at a telethon (televised fundraising event) organised by the charity program Stand Up to Cancer by playing Ronan there (in the event), a song that she had written in memory of a four year old little boy, deceased of neuroblastoma.
btw the tense difference (present in the French version, past in the English translation) is because French narration tends to use the present tense (historical present) even though the event was in the past
