Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
im assuming its has something to do with the tenses but c'est pas clair
in the case of "pensa-t-il" it's so the pronunciation is easier; saying "pensa il" isn't very smooth, so we add a "t"

so its basically "pensa il" which means he thought?
what about other ways? like "il a pense" ou "il pensait"? on ils raison?
verbs ending in vowels followed by pronouns starting with them usually have the t plopped in
pensa-t-il..?
a-t-il pensé..?
pensai__t__-il..?
oh, so it basically only helps with pronounciations
