Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
You have to learn them. There isn't any particular rule as far as I know.
i need to know this too bruh
Memorization.
Here's a list of verbs using de or à:
De: https://www.lawlessfrench.com/grammar/verbs-with-de/
À: https://www.lawlessfrench.com/grammar/verbs-with-a/
(At the bottom.)
im so confused
Prepositions are essentially just random in general regardless of the language, you just have to memorize and/or get a feel for them
There are some specific cases where it'll be consistent
At least mostly
keep in mind that English works basically the same way
listen + to
wait + for
recover + from
believe + in
you just need to know which prepositions are used after which verbs (and sometimes there are many)
this also applies with adjectives in both languages
good + at
interested + in
angry + about
etc.
