Ouf — like, I’m sitting down after a long day at work and just settling in and am transitioning into a state of higher relaxation where I’m glad the previous thing is over.

Or

Ouf — I’m expressing frustration about something that happened to me or I’m expressing empathy with a frustrating experience someone has just come to recount…

To me ouf is a bit like a verbal sigh or strong expressive exhale, which depending on culture also works in both contexts maybe?

Might also depend on how the ouf is delivered…those two scenarios are delivered slight differently I guess.
