Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

« l'histoire de la France » but i wouldn't be really shocked if I heard just « de France »

I've actually looked it up a few times, it depends on what is being meant by 'of France'. If we're talking a generality like a general view of French history, we omit the article, « l'histoire de France », but if we're talking about everything in French history, we keep it, « l'histoire de la France »

Iirc « de la France » tends to be more the political country while « de France » tends to be more the area/physical country

It seems to me that there should be a hidden adjective:
« L'histoire de France »
« L'histoire de la France (entière) »

#

because adjectives do cause it to pop up
