Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

To me "est-ce que quelqu'un t'a déjà dit...", while grammatically correct, is not really something one would actually use, it's a tad too formal (I might be wrong)

Instead a simpler "On t'a déjà dit..." seems more natural to my ears
