just the same as in english "the visit". So if you visit someone, it is a visit.

yeh maybe its just the way its worded i guess

can "la visite" mean inspection or examination

or screening i guess

I understood « la visite de l'armée » as 'Army inspection', as in you enlist and then they take in your measurements to check if you're good enough for the standards or not.
