Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Demonstrative pronouns require an antecedent which is basically a reference point. « ceci/cela » doesn't have gender and number information, it only has distance which doesn't even matter unless the contrast between the distance is important.
« Je veux cela, pas ceci. »
This sentence implies only distance: we don't know their gender nor their number, only that one is close to you and one is away from you.
« Je veux celui-là, pas celui-ci. »
This sentence implies the existence of two things: the noun's gender (masculine objects), its number (just one each), and its distance.
Just a bit of correction, because « ce » and « celui » are both masculine, it should just be « le meilleur » and that's where the point stands.
With « ce/ceci/cela/ça », you can only get two results:
« C'est le meilleur »
« Ce sont les meilleurs »
With « celui/celle/ceux/celles », you can get four, and with the distance markers -ci/-là, you get eight.
« Celui-ci est le meilleur »
« Celle-ci est la meilleure »
« Ceux-ci sont les meilleurs »
« Celles-ci sont les meilleures »
