I have no idea but the C sounds really weird
The participe présent is just the verb -ant form whereas the gérondif has to start with « en ».
En la regardant, je deviens fasciné par sa beauté.
Bold = Gérondif
Underline = Participe présent
participe passé is a completely different thing, but I assume that's just a typo
your answer isn't incorrect, though. D does contain a participe présent, it just happens to be part of the gérondif. C also contains a participe présent, and only the participe présent, no gérondif.
they just are looking for the sentence that contains a plain participe présent, not used for the gérondif
