Adjective to describe bigger body shape
Grand is mostly just used for "tall"
Gros is "big", could have "fat" connotations if context is unclear
Il a plus d’embonpoint que moi, il est moins maigre que moi, il est plus costaud que moi would all work
But like Alb said, grand is really about height
btw if you met "grand" in the sense "big" it's for inanimate objects
une grande maison
