Did you mean “je m’attendais à ce que” ?

In which case, “je m’attendais à ce que tu sois emprisonné” would mean “I was expecting you to be imprisoned”

“Tu emprisonnerais” wouldn’t work, both because “s’attendre à ce que” requires the subjunctive, and also because the verb “emprisonner” requires an object
