au = à + le
du = de + le

« brasserie, pharmacie » are both feminine nouns and so you should use feminine agreements : de la and à la

if the nouns were changed to a masculine noun, the agreements would change as well

« Je vais à la brasserie en face de la pharmacie. »
« Je vais au marché en face du bâtiment. »

because « brasserie, pharmacie » are feminine nouns whereas « marché, bâtiment » are masculine nouns
