Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

"finir" takes "de" before an infinitive verb, so "je finis de nettoyer" is correct.

"commencer" takes "à" before an infinitive verb, so "je commence à nettoyer".

This can't be guessed, you have to learn what preposition each verb is used with, if any

And just to be clear it has nothing to do with "nettoyer", the preposition is triggered by the verb that came before.

Je finis de nettoyer / Je finis de parler / Je finis de chanter / etc
