Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
"s'en aller" essentially means leave, and here you're seeing it in the imperative form. So it makes sense that if you tell someone to leave, it would translate as "go away"
ohhh okay yeah i forgot about imperatif
could we also say "Pars-toi" to tell someone to go away/leave?
If you wanted to put partir in the imperative it would be "pars". "va-t'en" seems to be more common.
Not saying you can't, but there may also be some nuance here that I'm missing (not a native speaker)
Pars is also correct and indeed less common. I'd say it has more of an "off you go" connotation.
