transports en commun is the most common way of saying it

commerces is very generic which can be used for restaurants, shops, everything else. magasin is a pretty close synonym but can't be used for some commerce

and also if you want to say that the "quartier est bien desservi" because of ...., it's better to say "par des (or les) transports en commun, ...."
