Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
A few issues:
-
"rendre" is used with adjectives.
It makes me happy = Ça me rend heureux
So it can't be used in your sentence.
Before a verb, you have to use "faire".
It makes me dance = Ça me fait danser -
"échouer" is followed by the preposition "à" before an infinitive verb. Example: J'ai échoué à arrêter de fumer
-
"échouer" isn't as common in French as "fail" is in English, so I'd word it in a different way. "ne pas parvenir" is pretty natural.
-
"sentir" normally means "to smell" or "to physically feel". To feel in an emotional way is "se sentir" before an adjective or phrase, and "ressentir" before a noun.
-
"the same way" is "de la même façon"
==> Le film ne parvient pas à les faire se sentir de la même façon
or
==> Le film ne parvient pas à les faire ressentir la même chose
The second one sounds better to me because it's less wordy
