Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
this vs that one
In all honesty, I don't see why the -là variants would be wrong. The addition of -là and -ci denote distance, sure, but that hasn't been established with « ce/cet/cette/ces ».
if I say, « J'aime ce livre, pas … »
and then complete it with « celui-ci », then that « ce » becomes the further:
'I like that book, not this one.'
doing it with « celui-là » would do the opposite:
'I like this book, not that one.'
well number 4 is clear because « chaussures-là » already has that distance so the response should be « celles-ci » but I can't see it happening with 2 and 3
Thank you.
Oh yes, I overlooked that with number 4. But with 2 and 3, I personally believed that both were possible.
But that was an exercise from here:
https://onlineuebungen.schularena.com/sheets/3tocz
And it marked my solution as incorrect in 2 and 3. That confuses me.
