I swear I remember going over why jour prochain doesn't exist because the word "demain" exists
Like how in English we say "tomorrow" not "next day"
L'été prochain = next summer 
L'été suivant ≈ the following summer 
Le jour prochain = next day (demain/tomorrow) 
Le jour suivant = the following day
