Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

they're talking about the prepositions used after a verb and before the object

#

some verbs take nothing
"nettoyer le sol" (clean the floor)
others take à
"parler à quelqu'un" (talk to someone)
others take de
"rêver d'une meilleure vie" (dream about a better life)

#

many verbs can do more than just one with a meaning change

#

you should start by taking a look at the articles I just posted

so every verb only takes those three after it? theres nothing else

lol no, look at the fourth article

#

but start there and come back to ask follow-ups once you've had a look

#

it's a complicated subject

#

(note, however, that English does the exact same thing... and actually it's even worse in English)
