Unless they're negative
"croire" does not use the subjunctive in the affirmative. Only when the sentence is negative or interrogative. Other similar verbs like "penser" or "espérer"
Some say it's because it's not a doubt when in affirmative, but in my opinion it's just that rules about subjonctive are pretty organic and sometimes it's just the way it is.
"Je crois que je me suis trompé"
"Je ne crois pas que je me sois trompé"
