Yes it is a term of affection

“My life” is a term of affection. If I call you “my life,” it means I really like you. For example, to illustrate hierarchically, for me there is “bestie”, “my star”, and above, cherry on top , there is “my life”. So if I call you “my bestie” and not “my life”, know that we are not as close as you think!
