Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

devrait -> devoir = must
faudrait -> falloir ≈ need (as in : you'll need to do...)

BUT
you are conjugating it with the ** Conditional present** changing the meaning a bit

Subject + DEVRAIT + infinitive
(eg : Il devrait venir)
means should

Subject + FAUDRAIT + "qu" + subjonctive //
Subject + FAUDRAIT + infinitive
(eg : Il faudrait que tu viennes //
Il faudrait manger à 18h...)
means should OR "need X to ..."

#

few examples cause i'm afraid i'm not so clear :
Il devrait venir
He should come

Je fais mes devoirs de maths, il faudrait que tu viennes m'aider.
I'm doing my math homework, i need you to come and help me

Il m'a dit 18h00, il faudrait voir avec lui
He told me 18:00, (you/they/...) should see with him
OR
He told me 18:00, (you/they/...) need to see with him

In the second example, the context already implies that you NEED the person to come, that's why it's not "you should"
In the last example, need or should doesnt make much difference, you could use "devrait" instead of "falloir" (but you need to replace il by you/they/...)
