we don't use « tranche » for pizza, cake or pie, only « part »

« morceau de tarte/pizza » would also not really be said, but « morceau de gâteau » would mean "piece of cake" (but not the figurative meaning, only the literal one)

for an example of what « tranche » is used with:
« tranche de pain » = slice of bread
