Aide is a noun, not a verb here. The l' before it is the definite article, and à is the preposition.

As for m'aide, you were trying to say help me in the imperative? That is aide-moi, not m'aide. The affirmative imperative is the only exception to the pronoun/verb order.

À l'aide and aide-moi are very similar. It's like help and help me in English.
