in passé composé, most verbs are conjugated with avoir, however there is a list of words that are conjugated with être

#

"venir" is a verb that you will have to conjugate with être, and when you do that, you have to apply subject-verb agreement (meaning: adding "s" if it's a plural subject, adding "e" if it's a feminine subject, etc.)

#
  • elle est venue
  • nous sommes venus
    etc.

this picture will help you memorize which verbs you'll need to conjugate with être:

There are specific rules where you add an ending when using "avoir", but I wouldn't worry about that for the moment. Just something to keep in mind

Agreements get a bit tricky sometimes but it’s really not that serious if you mess them up

#

You’ll get the hang of them 👍
