All store information is saved when its picked up, I would like for stores of those going inactive be removed and put in their storage for safe keeping should they return. Alternatively the store could be kept active, so their goods would still be avalible and all their buyorders could be deleted, but that would be abit more work for the store owner, should they return. Would be a job for a GM but it would be very quick to do
#When/if people go inactive, remove their store

What if we just turn off abandoned stores through law?
Could try the law idea, definitely might stretch the guarantee of property type laws though
Won't the goods in the store still be listed, even if the store is closed? I remember it being like that, but haven't had a store the last two cycles playing WT
Did a test, everything listed is still shown when store is closed and that was what I was trying to avoid with this
The right of a good to be for sale seems important, even if abandoned. Folks could still buy them out in times of scarcity and they still could return.
Do they still show once the store is closed and a restart is done? Maybe the system just needs to be updated like that
I did not try that, but I would think so
Its not about the goods being listed, its about the buyorders not being relevant because storage of those players are almost always full
When they go abandoned they lose their right to property as they can be expropriated anyway. Turning off a store it easily reversable if they log back in, so its not harming anyone. Turning it off should take the listings off I thought
They do not lose their right to property.
They can be expropriated (which means you must pay them everything you took for them for re-buy value, in some cases double) and only when there is actually a different use you want the property for.
The stores of people that are inactive are supposed to stay active for economical reasons. I don't like this idea. Stores of abandoned players can provide useful goods if not sold out well into the cycle and as long as they have UBI or rest-money they can still buy stuff as well.
What is the purpose of this change?
My post before this one
So that would be a weighting between economical balance towards a annoyance for sale-travellers.
I think in that case I'd always be in favour of economical balance.
Pros: No annoyance by getting to a store that is full
Cons: Requires manual GM interaction or a specific law
Removes the goods and money from the economy
Many people go inactive over time, so the efforts and loss would be substantial
Would it be possible to add some kind of "marker" so people could have the options not to see goods from select stores?
I'd be up for a test of doing this for abandoned players only
But in general I think we otherwise loose too much benefit for understandable QoL
But that is a game issue first and foremost
Its a by product of what I'm doing, if you don't trade much, this will never be an issue
Yeh, just saying im not trying to diminish your frustration at all, as from gameplay perspective this is frustrating and the only reason we dont show full inventories is that everyone lagging is even more frustrating
But for WT feedback my options are limited to things that can be modded server side (a filter cannot) and we have someone being able to do it or via law or manual action.
And that needs to i nweighting have at least a positive outcome
Which i dont see here until abandoned
After that I think its possible
Allright, thanks
