I know I post this quite often, but cement is typically made from Quicklime.
This balance change would likely nerf the power of advanced smelting, and make them reliant on another skill / trade outside their vertical.

I didn't realise this was a real thing that was coming. Someone come buy my crushed limestone off me! 😄 Guessing masonry will just be part of the adv smelting vertical now since its got so many things going for it vs taking one of the 3 end game professions which I suspect will be a good thing. Masonry vertical could probably do with something for its repeatable crafts that isn't using limestone since they'll be using it all game.
Adv smelting needs something like making coke from coal since its going to be real hard to level it now considering the huge drop both in making quicklime for steel and also for glassworkers for fiberglass. Steel bars and rebar only go so far when there's a handful of people who end up with industry and electronics. That said rivets in combustion engines and MU3s may save the day!
Oh and can we maybe get a performance bump to steel tools now they're more expensive than normal with the fancy lumber. On a lot of servers people never seem to bother with steel tools due to the limited jump from iron to steel and wait for modern.
And of course all of this with the caveat, lets see how this plays out. 😄
