Requesting from the Legislative / MP that the Hunting of Otter is to be outlawed because (1) the Otter-Population Number are in steep decline, (2) otters are the foundation of the biggest and most prestigous religion and (3) voting no on such a law will give negative reputation with many of your positivly otter-declined voters!!!

Further requesting that hunting Alligators should be awarded by a bounty, because the rising number of Alligator population correlates with the declining number of Otter Population. Therefor the Alligators are responsible for the declinging number of Otters worldwide! Hunting them should award 10 Euro per Alligator. If cost is an issue please contact me and i am confident that we will find a costeffective solution or alternative way to finance it.

Please vote on both subjects separatly. Thank you!

Everyone is equal to the law. That also stands for animals. Protecting just one because its cute and another one because its their natural predator could be seen as racism. Everyone deserves protection doesn't matter which race or species he/she has.
An Ecosystem is a sensible system and we should be careful with interacting with that. We are the factor that changed it after thousands of years is was stable.
Thats why I'm strictly against such laws as you requested. I furthermore would like to implement a global anti-animal-racism law preventing such laws in states and making those illegal as long as they provide a benefit or disadvantage for one specific species. With that law you would be still able to protect animals with decreasing population and limiting animals with increasing ones but those laws should not focus on some specific but all species.

Preventing the States from making laws in their jurisdiction is against the Constitution.

Ahh well - Offtopic - u can start such an discussion in another Thread i guess.

I dont want to prevent them from making laws. I want to ensure that animals are equal to the law as well.

There is no definition of Citizens and you could argue that animals are also citizens of WT. But Cinea is right thread is about another proposal. I just pointed out that I'm against that proposal and would like to even prevent such laws as requested because I have animal racism vibes with such laws as requested.

<@&807619796924497940> Has there been a vote on the two proposed laws yet (1. Anti-Otter-Hunting; 2. Alligator-Bounty)???

TLDR basically means i was looking for a summary. i just went a read this thread instead. I mostly agree with jagon and dont agree with the proposal. no one has even brought it into congress, so there hasnt been a vote. if one of the MPs does want to sort of "sponsor" a bill in line with this proposal and bring it to congress, then we would likely discuss it further and vote from there. If you can show proof of low numbers of otters (nearing extinction) to the point they need protection, then I would consider a law protecting them

Side Info. Otter pop is not shrinking it is pretty stable looking at past 5 days and it has 3x pop of alligators which pop is also stable but smally decreasing and not rising in last 5 days. So given information is fake news and propaganda of the otter cult.

exactly why i asked for proof, thank you

dire turret

Nooo. Otter-numbers are clearly in decline:

midnight adder

you can not count first days as they start with a given number without knowing how much habitat on given map they have. So its only valid to look after around day 5. Also most population and least least populations delta is less then 10% so the species is stable and not shrinking

Those graphs are extremely misleading. The y-axis does not start at 0, it starts not to far from the max amount. The math comes out to b at most, a 10% drop before it stabilizes which is pretty normal for server beginnings.

Given that there is currently a bounty on Otter Corpses by another player, it's impressive that the otter population is remaining stable. The church and its adoration of otters may be fulfilling otter protection itself. I can't support an alligator bounty unless their population as actually out of control. But otters are cute, and if brought to a vote.. I will vote for their protection on that alone

<@&807619796924497940> Any Decision on it yet?

scarlet jolt

Considering 2 MPs have said no, 2 havent really spoken, and 1 has said they will vote for the otter part if it went to vote, it is probably a no

Given the recent bounties placed on otters and requests for lawsuits referencing them being a nuisance (for seemingly no other reason than personal annoyance with the creature), I am inclined to draft a law that would protect the species as long as their population remains under 400. Would this be acceptable to my fellow MP's?
