Maybe just full open q with a verification process of x matches played? You post a screenshot in a channel and a mod gives you the role.
Anyone that cheats the system will get seen by other players checking their matches played, reported and banned peeposhrug

As it is rn anyone wanting to take the game more seriously seems to get the upper trial role, and if they didn't the upper queue would be even more dead so may as well just do an easier verification system
