I think these announcements should be posted on Steam as well since it is technically an update/marketing. People who own the game, but not deeply invested as to follow this game on Discord/Twitter, would stay in the loop on what's happening besides patch notes.

This also shows dev activity and keeps it fresh in the players minds. Next double XP event should be pronounced like this with its own unique image as well to get players attention and excited when looking for a game to play in their library. The 'whats new' section is like free marketing for the players who have it already that could help a small bit with player retention.
