there is a setting in iOS to turn off to about movement detection but I forget, google should help

If sooner than that check Pokemon go plus settings in Pokemon app, try downloading gotcha app and updating it. Maybe you have a faulty one. My first one was crap. Had to replace it in less than a few weeks. I got gotcha ranger now havnt had problems so far
