technically have some platfighter experience, and fg experience, but i'm not really sure how to set myself up for a ko. Surely I don't have to wait for 200%

Galvan has a lot of solid kill moves, one of his best is forward air, when galvanized it gets a buff and is really strong. He can do throw confirms into it like forward throw fair. His Ftilt is also surprisingly strong if you hit the sweet spot of it, it won’t kill early but it’s a decent kill option near the ledge. One of Galvan’s best attributes is edge guarding, doing things like bair offstage threaten a lot of space and if it hits you can do double jump forward air, then up b to make a platform. Nair is a great combo tool that can lead into stuff, but it’s also just a great option offstage to disrupt people’s recovery, especially when you drop from ledge with it

He has been nerfed a little since this set, but not in the strength of his kill moves

#

Side b is a risky but very good kill option, if you side b into someone offstage and jump cancel it into forward air they are probably just dead

#

Switch and Hampolo are both really good Galvan players you can look into, and I believe switch will be at Hitfall which is an upcoming tournament

sounds great, i'll have some goats to root for

#

i guess galvans strongs are mostly there to send opponents off stage to edge guard later?

#

and i saw they were fine to start juggles based on DI

His strongs can kill, but they are slow so it’s mostly in combination with your drills. Throwing someone into your drill into a strong attack is a solid option

#

But requires more set up

median cobalt
#

throw confirms are quite tough but i'll have to get them down

#

does this count for down special as well, or is it more of a combo thing

stoic abyss
#

Down special is mostly a tech chasing move, but can be useful to pressure a shield from the air. What rank are you right now?

570 bronze lol

#

you definitely have a long way to go then, so I wouldn't worry too much about drill stuff

#

even lots of top galvans don't use his drills an insane amount

#

definitely join the galvan discord aswell, they can help you a lot

was scared to haha

i didn't think too much about drills, they'll connect eventually probably

#

if i dont want to help my opponent recover with the ufo but not die because i cancelled it, is recovering with galvanized sideB a good idea?

stoic abyss
#

like if you are both offstage?

median cobalt
#

yeah

#

or should i just go all in until they're dead and then use platform

stoic abyss
#

that's a good question, honestly if you can insure they will die first waiting and then using platform is fine, but safety wise you probably want to just get back to ledge so you can hold it and continue to edge guard them

#

but if they are gonna make it back first anyway just up b

median cobalt
#

okay, thank you mr wooper, that about cleared up all i wanted to ask

#

i guess for future questions i'll consult galvancord

stoic abyss
#

I mean it's fine to ask here, I just don't have a ton of galvan knowledgehapkragg

Thanks very much still
