Hi, I'm a Ranno main in low silver and I think the most helpful way to grow for me right now is to spar against a Clairen

  • it's the most common match up I run into on ranked
  • it forces me to play the neutral in a calculated manner
  • it forces me to be very tight with movement
  • it forces me to learn ledge guarding
  • it forces me to stay grounded

Hi, gold Clairen shitter over here. If Seattle server works well enough for you, I'm down to press buttons sometime

I'll hit you guys up eventually!

#

do you have any tips on the matchup?

#

I am going to blow my brains out

#

I'll be honest my movement isn't that great, and I have a habit of jumping to try to get aerials

#

but eventually I get boxed into a corner if I don't jump at them

The most frustrating thing from my end of the matchup is when Ranno uses his ground speed to bait out my aerials (because I have a bad habit of just jumping at people with fair/nair) and then punishing. Your biggest strength is forcing us to whiff and then getting in with dash attack/grab/tilt to get your party started, imo. But i'm not a Ranno player, so I could be wrong about that. There's a shitload of Ranno players in this discord that could probably give you more specific tips!

My instinct is to say no? Your advantage state is nutty

I think that's on a case by case basis. if you can keep your advantage going, do so. You kinda gotta feel out when you can't get anymore, but I wouldn't pull back early. Like Cynidea said: Ranno advantage is cracked

Yeah knowing exactly when you're overextending or not is a pretty high level question that I think a strong Ranno main would better suited to answer, but in general I think if you land a button, you have free reign to go ham with more buttons like 80% of the time
