Depends, it can be any time during the day, and you must have a valid house that is unoccupied

If it's night time or during certain events he won't respawn

It's actually the perfect speed for moon lord. It's slightly faster than him so it's good at maintaining a proper distance that isn't too close or too far away from the moonlord. Making it much easier to hit, especially for melee. The broom is the fastest non-conditional flight mount and has enough speed and maneuverability to fight anything in the game, even daytime empress of light.

You dont outrun it you go up and over it

And you can move out of the way of every EoL attack easily with practice

The closer to his eye you get the faster you move relative to the arc of the beam

So when you see him charging his middle eye you can time when you should fly straight at it to easily get around, which also switches your flight direction and makes it easier to target the other hand for a while

problem is, moonlord is easier to fight from afar. so I either try to go up and over at that distance (too slow) or get closer first (wasting time)

dashing and asphalt are a lot faster horizontally, helping me clear the gap

So I think the best way to beat Duke Fishron is to use ranger-summoner hybrid gear.

• I like the avenger emblem and destroyer emblem, for this situation, because it modifies dammage from both ranger attacks and summon attacks.
• I like the worm scarf because it adds to total defense, so it'll let me live longer.
• My arena is made of assphalt (allows me to run real fast)
• I use the flying slime for fast vertical movement.
  Here's what I'm not sure about:
• should I use a summoner emblem or a ranger emblem?
• should I use Shroomite Armor or Tiki armor?
• what summon is the best for fighting him?

Also please note:

• I have done martian madness
• I have beat the Golem
• I have done solar eclipse
• I have done the pirate event
• I haven't done the Pumkin moon

It’s all preference. A lot of experienced and sweaty players kill him like day 1 into hardmode using magic. But he fits well into most progression spots up until empress. It’s just a “kill it when you can” type boss.

Most of the gem staves have piercing, wand of sparking (or its frostfire variant), demon scythe, vilethorn and crimson rod are both pre-evil boss.
If you want to ignore standard progression you entirely don't even have to kill world evil boss, and that opens up a ton more.

Sorry for the late reply. So tmodloader is essentially a adon to terraria that easily allows you to use mods that were made using it. Multiplayer depends on the mod but from experience it tends to work reasonably well with a few exceptions. And as for your worlds they have separate folders so you don't break your old worlds but there is a button to export worlds over if I remember right.

Try using a ranged weapon like a bow or yoyo or gun. If you don't have good defense or speed then melee isn't the best choice. Also skeleton isn't required for pre-hardmode progression so you can always go get molten armor first and then go back to face him

But I have seen others also say that the bee gun or beenades is good for skeleton too
