Depending on what difficulty you're on, try to get a good start by getting touches and explore the left and right side of the world

First off, play on classic so you don’t quit out of frustration. Second, as soon as you get in the world explore and look for chests. You may find something called a “suspicious eye” just use it whenever you feel you are ready for a challenge. Finally, focus on digging down to find new stuff.
