Cannot start Niri WM on fresh Gentoo OpenRC Install

When I run the command “dbus-run-session niri - -session” I get the following error message:

0x0 - <unknown>art_main error initializing the TTY backend

Previously I was getting an error for not having seatd and elogind running, and I was missing the xf86-video-intel package. Not sure what the issue is now.

I do not have any desire at the moment to use a display manager but if that would lead to this working I wouldn’t mind installing gdm.

Hi guys, I think my issue was that I did not have support for integrated Intel graphics enabled in my kernel (i915)

I am recompiling now and will see if that works after a system update. I also realize I probably shouldn’t have enabled a universal -X USEFLAG so 🫠

Nonetheless if anyone has any other thoughts let me know. I’ll mark this as solved once I actually get a wm up and running
