Sometimes a sudden stop of updating screen (& game crash) while playing some games.

Well first thing I would do would run memtest86 overnight

#

That should tell you if its a ram related problem which it does sounds like, although that would often lead to compile failures most of the time

#

In terms of 98 c under load, its not ideal but is fine. What tdp is your CPU. All Intel CPUs above 65 watts in 13th and 14th gen are effected.

#

Memtest takes a while

#

Like it doesn't end

#

Unless you error iirc

Your laptop manufacturer would have to release a bios update for it

As far as 13th is concerned, the lower models are compatible with Alderlake, which is the lower limit, so I don't think there's any particular problem with your flag and configuration. I agree.

If you have tried multiple distros and Nobara or Cachy work, then O3 is not the issue (O3 is not my personal preference), but it may hinder your investigation if you are low on disk space.

If you really want to know, the lower models of 11th and 12th are only backward compatible with Cooperlake or Rocketlake, so downgrading to those is also an option.

If you don't care much about Intel's policy, it's not a bad idea to go for znver2 or 3.

Alderlake has big.little.

Try to add compiler flags with --param l1-cache-size=32 --param l1-cache-line-size=64 --param l2-cache-size=512 but while acceptable for gcc only. (as fallback)
