I've been using Gentoo and running a Windows VM, today i notices a really specific problem. if i'm running the VM and not doing anything actively like watching a video my Gentoo system goes in to sleep mode.
my research got stuck and I could not figure out a solution all i found was some systemd commands and kde-inhibit. Im running openrc and kde-plasma as the desktop.

summary:
Is there some way, I can stop the system from going to sleep mode while a VM is active or an program?

Depends, if the rebinding was on kernel level non-zero chance the VM would see it too probably

Tho idk if that's even a thing

yeah, i noticed that too at first then i started using virtio with
´´´
<input type="tablet" bus="usb">
<address type="usb" bus="0" port="1"/>
</input>
´´´
this allowed me to use my mouse without having unlock the mouse and keyboard, form my extremly limited testing it work good enough
sorry, for the late response i hade my exams the last weeks
