I'm on chroot installing Gentoo with systemd for the first time, and I'm trying to run systemd-firstboot --prompt --setup-machine-id, but t returns --machine-id=/--setup-machine-id only works with --root= or --image=. What do I do?

--root=/

In the chroot

I’m guessing that means you could also run it from outside the chroot if you were running a systemd installation environment, by using --root=/mnt/gentoo

I did that, but it didn't work, returned the same thing.
