I am looking for / I need help with:
Finding Anastasia in the 1911 + 1921 censuses, understanding her link to 96 Ribble Road, and any info on the Irish father of her son.

Name: Anastasia Longworth
Sex: Female

Date of Birth: c.1894
Location of Birth: Oldham, Lancashire

Spouse Name: Unknown (no known marriage)
Date of Marriage:
Location of Marriage:

Date of Death: 8 Apr 1935
Location of Death: 96 Ribble Road, Blackpool, Fylde RD

Other Information:
Missing from both 1911 + 1921 censuses. In 1911 her mother Monica is living alone, so Anastasia (17) was likely in service or lodging elsewhere. By 1921 she may already have been in Blackpool working in hotels/boarding houses.
Her son Frederick Longworth (b. 1924 Fylde) was born out of wedlock; father rumoured to be an Irish man, possibly O’Donnelly.
Anastasia died at 96 Ribble Road, the same address where Bessie Beatrice Howard Mitchell lived in 1921. Bessie later informally adopted Frederick after Anastasia’s death.

Hi, I am pretty sure this is Anastasia, living with her paternal grandmother Maria in 1911.

She is living at the same address as her father James was living at, when he married Monica Daniels in 1890.

The other little girl in the household, Florence Mary, was born on 19 June 1901 and baptised (Catholic) in Farnsworth. Her mother was Margaret Janet Longworth.

Florence was still living with her grandmother in 1921, at the same address, but no sign of Anastasia.

In 1921, Monica is living in Salford, with her neighbor from 1911 as a boarder. Frederick Manuell completed the census (badly)

sorry for the extraneous information, I like to work around a puzzle when I am solving a brickwall - you never know where the clues will be

Thank you! This is all fantastic. I really appreciate your help. I wonder where Anastasia is in 1921, I honestly have no idea as Fred (my great grandad) never knew who his real mum was just that she died when he was young. Do you think Monica and James were separated?

yes - although it might have initially been amicable, out of employment necessity - it would be unusual for a daughter to be living with her dad otherwise, although not impossible.

Of course, then Monica is found living with her male neighbor from 1911, in a different town, so perhaps there was more going on? The census returns are messy, suggesting their lives were complicated.

Given the transcription errors I have found in this search, its entirely likely that Anastasia does appear somewhere on the 1921 census - its just going to take a little more detective work.

Do you have Fred's birth certificate?

I would also look for James Longworth's death and will, and Monica's if she left one.
