2ds not charging

hello i recently bought a 2ds listed as broken and when i plug it into my DSI charger (tested and working) the charger light lights up for 5 seconds and shuts off. I have tried countless stuff (i tried taking out the battery and checking for blown fuses) except buying new parts id like to get in touch with someone this 2ds was a really good deal (RIP to the back camera ribbon cable that i broke)

Well the charging port lighting up for 5ish seconds then going out when plugged in (consistently) is a symptom of the battery not being properly connected to the system.

May wanna look to see if the battery is getting proper contact with the gold battery prongs.

Are you saying that whenever you plug your 2DS into the charger, the charging light turns on for 5 seconds and then doesn't turn on again until you remove the charger and plug it back in?
