alright so, I'm thinking to buy 3DS to play Pokemon n other games, also to carry around because switch consoles are just too big imo. During Wii U n 3DS, I owned Wii U. So what I wanna know, which model I should buy. Original 3DS seems kinda perfect imo, New editions are too expensive

About the New 2DS XL

We don't recommend buying the New 2DS XL for a multitude of reasons:

  • Higher rate of FCRAM failure
  • Higher rate of NAND failure
  • Hinge prone to snapping
  • Difficult to repair (e.g battery glued in place)
  • Low quality build despite being in the "New" line
  • High price despite being a budget console
  • Lower battery capacity (1300mAh vs 1750mAh)
  • LCD light bleeds through the shell on orange and white models
  • Backplate uses tri-point screws despite all other models using #00 JIS
  • Speakers placed where your hand goes
  • Matte finish is prone to scratching
  • Tiny stylus
  • No 3D (obviously)
  • No charging cradle
We are of course not saying to get rid of it if you already own one, but if you are in the market for a new 3DS it's best to avoid the n2DSXL for the reasons above.
