Your console is region changed
You either need to region change to the original region, restore a nand backup from before the region change, or do a soap transfer
A soap transfer requires a console that os the same region as the region you changed this console to
which one is easier?
Resotring a nand backup from before the region change
But you might want to make a nand backup right now
That way you can restore the old nand backup, use pokemon bank, then restore your new nand backup
so basically i get my old NAND backup from my old 3ds and use it for the new one
or the regional one
is their a guide anywhere
No
Do you have a nand backup from this 3ds that was made before you did the region change
how do i check?
It should be on your PC or some other safe location
would it be named like sysnand or essential exefs?
yeah i got those files
they are still in my gm9 folder though forgot to switch them
Thats fine
Create a folder on your PC and move them there
Then make another nand backup https://3ds.hacks.guide/godmode9-usage.html

on the region 3ds?
And its from before the region change?
Yes, thats the console youre trying to use pokemon bank on
i think sooooooo?
Make a nand backup then restore the one youve just found
the ones i found on the region 3ds?
Thats only for a soap transfer
so once im done backing up my nand i get the old nand and restore it?
Yes
quick question since im just like not really sure if the old NAND is japanese or not
would i have to region swap it back then get the nand from there?
i also have a nand with my old 3ds which had bank
if that matters
No, you can just restore the backup
If its not Japanese you'll just do a region change to japanese
Region change it to Japanese https://3ds.hacks.guide/region-changing.html
