Not sure if this is the correct place to ask but I have this incredibly annoying issue. Recently, I got caught in a small rainstorm which did wet my DS Lite. Though, no major damage was seemingly done to it. The top screen flickered weirdly but I fixed it by simply turning that tiny golden nub (VR1) to return to screen back to normal. However, now when I boot up my copy of Pokémon Platinum, I get this blue screen saying a communication error occurred and something something union room (which I was never in, I don’t have access to generation 4 Pokémon wireless access). When it tells me to press A to return to the last place I saved. However it then just gives me a white screen and never ever takes me back to my save file. I thought it was the game that was the problem but I put it in my 2DS XL (bleh, I know) and the game booted up perfectly fine and I could get back to my save. I looked into it and some Reddit thread said how they had this same issue with their SoulSilver copy as well and they took apart their DS and readjusted the wireless chip that had been loose and it went back to normal. I unscrewed my own DS Lite and saw that it wasn’t loose, but I disconnected the tiny wire on it and the entire chip itself and put it back in. However, I still keep getting the issue and frankly I don’t know how else to proceed anymore. Did the rain damage the chip and would I need to replace it? Or is there perhaps another solution to the problem?
