I can't tell if this was a good deal or if I got scammed

I see dead pixels in 3/4 corners on the top display

I paid $211 USD for a n3dsll that had a poor looking outer cosmetic shell but had mint dual IPS displays, only 1 small scratch on the top one 🤷🏻‍♂️

All the dual ips on ebay are about 250-350 rn

Yup, that's why when I was hunting for mine I looked around until I saw one that was fully functional, even if it didn't cosmetically look good

You can swap the backplates on the n3dsxl/ll fairly easily anyway (though not as easy as the regular n3ds with its swappable faceplates)

I've done an iPhone 4s successfully a couple times and those are complicated enough as is

It probably is. I have a metallic red one and the problem it has is the paint wears off on points that are exposed constantly when the screen is closed (like the area on each side of the hinge where the notification LED is)

But on black you probably hardly notice

As long as the dead pixels at the corner don't bother you then you probably won't. Bottom screen looks a tad yellow too but I've seen much worse. Me personally though, I would've held off on a screen without dead pixels

You'll look more carefully next time 😉 I almost got bit by that a couple times too, really good looking deal and the console looks clean, but then I realize why it's such a good deal 😅
